Office Party Catering in Encino & Los Angeles: Packages, Portions & Planning
Office parties have a different rhythm than a normal catered lunch — guests graze, the room fills in waves, and someone always brings a plus-one. This guide covers the packages we build by headcount, how much food to order, the planning timeline that keeps costs predictable, and the questions offices in Encino and Los Angeles ask us most.
Office party packages by headcount
Start with guest count, then decide whether the food needs to hold for a long grazing window or be served in one seating. These three builds cover almost every office party we cater.
Desk-Side Drop-Off
10–25 guestsSandwich platter, 1 salad, 1 side, 2 drink dispensers
Best for: Team lunches, small department celebrations, quick birthday parties
Office Buffet
25–60 guests2 appetizers, 2 salads, 1 pasta, 2 entrees, 2 sides, 3 drinks
Best for: Quarterly all-hands, client appreciation, milestone celebrations
Holiday Party Spread
60–120 guests2 appetizers, 2 salads, 2 pastas, 3 entrees, 3 sides, grazing display, 4 drinks
Best for: Year-end holiday parties, open houses, brand activations
How much food to order
Plan per guest, not per tray: roughly 6 oz of protein, 4 oz of pasta or noodles, and 4–6 oz of salad or vegetables per adult, plus 2–3 appetizer pieces during arrivals. Add about 20% if the party runs longer than two hours or replaces dinner. Our pasta trays are portioned for shared service, so divide the pasta portion by 2 whenever it sits beside a hot entree. Planning timeline
| When | What to lock in |
|---|---|
| 3–4 weeks out | Lock the date, headcount range, and venue access details (elevator, loading, table space). |
| 2 weeks out | Confirm the menu, dietary needs, and whether you want drop-off or full-service setup. |
| 1 week out | Final guest count. We adjust tray counts and drinks so nothing runs short. |
| Day of | We arrive 45–60 minutes early for full-service setup, or 15 minutes before service for drop-off. |
What shapes your custom quote
Three levers move an office party budget more than anything else: guest count, number of hot entrees, and service style. Drop-off sandwiches, a salad, a side, and drinks is the leanest build. Swapping to two hot entrees with staffed setup and customized displays adds labor and equipment. Holiday season dates in Encino and Los Angeles book early, so locking your date ahead of November improves availability. Planning a daytime office event instead? Frequently asked questions
- How does Jam & Joy prepare an office catering quote?
- Your custom quote is based on the guest count, menu, delivery location, service window, and whether you need drop-off, a styled setup, or staff. Send us those details and we will recommend the right build for your event.
- How much food do I need for an office party?
- Plan about 6 oz of protein, 4 oz of pasta or noodles, and 4–6 oz of salad per adult, plus 2–3 appetizer pieces during arrivals. If the party runs past two hours or overlaps a normal meal time, add roughly 20%.
- Do you cater evening and after-hours office parties?
- Yes. Holiday parties, happy hours, and after-hours celebrations are common for us. Tell us the service window in your request and we will schedule delivery and setup around it.
- Can you handle vegetarian and dietary restrictions for a mixed office?
- Yes. The Veggie Sando, Medi Salad, Pasta Marinara, Macaroni and Cheese, Roasted Veggies, Garlic Mashed Potato, and Garlic Rice are vegetarian-friendly, and we label items on the table. Note dietary needs in the catering form and we build the menu around them.
- How much notice do you need for an office party?
- Two to three weeks is ideal for parties over 40 guests, especially in November and December. Smaller drop-off orders can often be arranged with a few days of notice.
- What areas do you serve for office catering?
- We are based at 17616 Ventura Blvd in Encino and serve the San Fernando Valley, greater Los Angeles, and Southern California — including Sherman Oaks, Woodland Hills, Studio City, Burbank, Glendale, and Downtown LA.
